Waite's Full-Deck Tarot Reading Method With the Langustl Tarot

This reading unfolds in two stages. Read the first stage fully before you continue. The first stage gives the map. The second stage walks the hidden roads beneath that map. The second stage uses the 35 cards left after the first stage.

First Operation: 42 Cards (the Map)

  1. Choose a significator to stand for the subject. Use The Magician for a masculine subject or The High Priestess for a feminine subject. Place the card face up and keep it noted.

  2. Shuffle, feel the shuffle, and cut the deck.

  3. Deal the first 42 cards into 6 packets of 7 cards each. Keep the sequence intact.

  4. Lay those 42 cards into a 6 × 7 grid, rows read right to left. If the significator appears among the 42, remove it from the grid and replace its slot with the next available card from the unused portion so the significator is not duplicated in the visible field.

  5. Study the grid. Read relationships, suits, numerology, major arcana weight, and repeated symbolism. Use the grid as the manifest story. Resolve as much as you can here before proceeding.

When to continue
Proceed if questions remain or if you want deeper nuance. The second operation is commentary and illumination. It uses the 35 undealt cards to shed light on hidden influences.
