I Ching by Aleister Crowley

The I Ching (Book of Changes) dates back thousands of years. It contains Confucian philosophy and was also heavily influenced by Lao Tzu when he founded Taoism around 600 BC.

To do an I Ching reading, coins or painted sticks are tossed to determine patterns of solid or broken lines representing yin and yang. The querent creates six lines, beginning with the base, which creates a structure known as a hexagram. The hexagram corresponds to a number between one and sixty-four, determining which scripture is read.
