Cross Layout

Cross Layout

Difficulty: Easy

The Cross Spread is good for questions asking for advice. It can also be used to determine the meaning of a confusing domino from a previous reading, or for that matter, to shed light on other points of confusion.

In questions asking advice, this layout is self-explanatory. The main thing is to determine the difference between dominoes #2 and #3. #1 is the topic and #4 is the result.

In questions regarding confusion, such as: "What was the meaning of Domino (X) in the last layout?" the main thing is also to determine the difference between dominoes #2 and #3. In this case, #2 will show what the domino was not referring to, and Domino #3 will show what was really meant. Domino #1 is the topic and #4 represents the purpose it serves.

It Deals with This

Four/One (NA/DHI): The Treasury of Jewels

A Building of Many Stories

The Treasury of Jewels symbolises unparalleled prosperity and success. Like 'butter from milk' or 'gems from the sea', your desires will be fulfilled, and your future looks incredibly bright. Whatever you seek, you will find, and the opportunities before you are vast.

Do NOT Do This

Three/Five (TSA/PA): The Demon of Afflictions

The Boiling Agitation

A turbulent sign, this pairing indicates significant emotional unrest and the threat of external disruptions, such as enemies or legal battles. You feel attacked, whether by malicious gossip, deceit, or even black magic. The source of this disturbance lies in negative, combative energy—perhaps stemming from quarrels or environments where negativity breeds. Now is the time to confront these sources, address conflicts, and settle unresolved disputes. You must also channel your negative emotions into positive action. Performing rituals such as creating yellow clay stupas or honouring sacred deities will help restore balance and ward off further harm.

DO This

Two/Four (RA/NA): The Dried-up Tree

Essenceless and Inconceivable

The lack of results is symbolised here by a dried-up tree that produces no fruit. This domino suggests that your current pursuits are not yielding the desired outcome because they may be based on unrealistic expectations or too many distractions. You may be reaching for something beyond your grasp, and the constant pressure of unfulfilled desires is draining your energy. Perform rituals to honour your ancestors or the spirits of the earth to restore balance and refocus your energies on achievable goals.

It Leads to This

Four/Five (NA/TSA): The Scattered Mountain of Sand

Dwindling the Mountain to Dust

This pairing signals that your pursuits are in danger of falling apart. Hopes and dreams may feel as if they are being blown away by the wind, leaving you feeling lost. Now is the time to step back and examine where things went wrong. Perform suppression or burial rituals to cleanse yourself of negative influences, as well as peaceful fire rituals to burn away any lingering bad energy. You may also want to consider making amends with those who have wronged you, as your enemies are currently working against you. Retracing your steps will offer clarity and guide you towards healing.
