Horse Shoe Spread

Difficulty: Easy
The Horse Shoe is a classic tarot spread. It is more advanced than the three-card reading, yet simpler than most other spreads. It is a versatile method that can be used for most queries, though there are other spreads which would go into more depth. Like the simple Past, Present, and Future spread, it contains these cards in positions #1, #2, and #7, but also has four other tarot cards that help the reader understand how to deal with the future better. The cards are to be read as follows:
- The Past: Past events affecting the question.
- The Present: The current state or approaching influence.
- Hidden Influences: Things the reader may not be aware of (or barely be aware of).
- Obstacles: This is the challenge: obstacles may be avoided or may have to be dealt with.
- External Influences: Attitudes and thoughts regarding people around the reader.
- Suggestions: Recommended course of action.
- Outcome: The result of following the suggestions.

Ten of Hearts
Satiety (Mars in Pisces): This card presents a paradox of fulfilment—a state where pleasure appears complete yet leaves an echo of longing. The Ten of Hearts, energised by Mars in Pisces, suggests that even when desires seem satisfied, there remains an undercurrent of what might have been. It challenges you to explore the nature of satisfaction: to recognise that true contentment involves continual growth and that each peak of joy is but a stepping stone to further emotional discovery.
The Present represents the current state or immediately approaching influence.
Queen of Diamonds
Capricorn: The Queen of Diamonds exudes a grounded, nurturing power that is both practical and affectionate. Her influence is marked by a sense of duty and well-cultivated charm that brings warmth to even the most restrictive environments. She symbolises a person—or an energy—who combines the rigour of material success with kindness, nurturing the prosperity of those around her while maintaining a firm grasp on reality.
A practical, kind, domesticated, affectionate, charming woman
Hidden Influences - Things that you may not be aware of, or barely be aware of.

The Ace of Diamonds invites you to harness the energies of the physical world, celebrating the genesis of creative endeavours that manifest into real-world achievements. It suggests that now is the moment to establish a solid foundation for future prosperity, embracing both resourcefulness and grounded ambition.
Materialistic concerns, contentment, earthly power and success.

Joker
The Joker embodies a sense of limitless possibility and quiet transformation. It suggests the path ahead may be more fluid than it seems, urging you to consider that every moment holds the potential for re-invention. Its energy is subtle yet profound, encouraging you to remain receptive and adaptable in the face of change.
External Influences - Attitudes about this situation from people around the querent.
Seven of Hearts
Debauch (Venus in Scorpio): The Seven of Hearts warns of the dangers of unbridled passion when it tips into excess. With Venus in Scorpio intensifying its energy, this card highlights a descent into moral ambiguity—where the allure of indulgence may lead to deception and loss of integrity. It calls for reflection on your desires, encouraging you to cultivate a balance between passion and ethical grounding, lest you become entangled in fleeting, self-destructive pursuits.
Deception, shameless indulgence, lust, fornication, intoxication, delusion, promises unfulfilled.
Suggestion - The recommended course of action.
Seven of Clubs
Valour (Mars in Leo): Embodying the courageous spirit of Mars in Leo, the Seven of Clubs champions the power of bravery in the face of adversity. This card reflects the grit required to overcome ongoing challenges—even if the victories are small, they are hard-won and significant. It is a call to confront obstacles head-on, relying on your inner valour and determination. It reminds you that every courageous step, no matter how modest, builds the foundation for enduring strength.
Struggles, obstacles, difficulties met with courage. Small victories.
The Outcome - What will happen if the suggestion is followed.
Ace of Spades
The Root of Air: This card bursts forth as the inception of intellect and spiritual conquest. It represents an invocated force—an elemental surge of clarity and willpower born from adversity. The Ace of Spades signals the moment when profound insight and strength are summoned through tribulation, empowering you to overcome obstacles by embracing mental acuity and challenge.
Invoked force, conquest, strength through tribulation.
