Path Spread

Path Spread #1

Difficulty: Easy

For the Path reading, one asks for suggestions how to behave properly to achieve a desired result. The Current column represents how the reader has been acting, and the Suggestedcolumn suggests how they should act to achieve a certain goal. The chart-like spread uses the standard three levels: Rational, Emotional, and External Stance (how one projects oneself outwardly). When comparing the Current and Suggested cards, the most important thing is to notice the differences between the two cards. It is these differences which hint at the behaviours that should be altered.

Card #1 is the significator, the card which should reflect the nature of the query and/or the desired outcome.

Card #2 shows the way the reader is and has been thinking. Card #7 suggests how to change the way one thinks to serve themselves better.

Card #3 suggests the reader's emotional attitude. Though it may seem difficult to manipulate one's own emotions, it can be done if one puts their mind to it. For example, acting a certain way such as smiling intently for a few minutes will lead the emotions to follow. When a person tries this, as silly as the exercise seems, they find this to evoke the emotion of happiness. For this reading, one should try to make themselves feel the way that Card #6 suggests.

External Stance means how one acts outwardly, how they hope others see them. Card #4 is about how the reader has been acting, while #5 indicates how they should act outwardly, for other people's sake. It is the differences between these cards that hint at what behaviour patterns should be altered.

Current Thoughts

Ten of Clubs

Oppression (Saturn in Sagittarius): The Ten of Clubs serves as a stark warning about the misuse of raw power. Under the heavy hand of Saturn in Sagittarius, this card represents energy turned destructive—brute force that suppresses growth and stifles creativity. It cautions against the potential for self-imposed or external repression, where ambition may devolve into cruelty or malice if not guided by wisdom and compassion. It urges you to seek balance and channel your fiery energy constructively, lest it become an instrument of oppression.

Lies, repression, cruelty, malice. The element of fire in its most destructive form.

Suggested Thoughts

Seven of Diamonds

Failure (Saturn in Taurus): Saturn in Taurus casts a sobering light on the Seven of Diamonds, which speaks to the perils of wasted effort and unfulfilled promises. This card reflects moments when hard work yields little gain, or when hopes are dashed by unforeseen obstacles. It urges you to reassess your strategies, learn from setbacks, and recognise that even failure carries the seeds of wisdom—encouraging you to recalibrate your approach for more fruitful outcomes.

Sloth, abandoned labour, hopes deceived, promises unfulfilled, disappointment.

Current Emotions

Five of Spades

Defeat (Venus in Aquarius): The Five of Spades embodies the sting of loss and the undercurrents of malice that can fracture resolve. With Venus in Aquarius tinting its energy, this card reflects moments of weakness and spite—times when external pressures and internal conflicts sap your strength. It cautions that defeat might be a necessary, though painful, lesson, urging you to recognise vulnerability as a stepping stone towards reclaiming dignity and reasserting your personal integrity.

Weakness, loss, spite, malice, trouble, dishonour, anxiety. A driver of wedges.

Suggested Emotions

Seven of Spades

Futility (Moon in Aquarius): The Seven of Spades carries the haunting echo of battles fought in vain. Under the enigmatic Moon in Aquarius, it reveals the sense of exhaustion that arises when energy is expended on endeavours destined to yield only partial or delayed victories. This card serves as a reminder to assess whether continued struggle is worth the cost, or if redirecting your efforts might lead to a more meaningful, albeit different, path to success.

Current External Stance

Two of Diamonds

Change (Jupiter in Capricorn): Embodying the steady yet expansive influence of Jupiter in Capricorn, the Two of Diamonds signifies transformative shifts in the realm of material matters. It speaks of change that is both inevitable and, often, pleasantly surprising—be it a new opportunity in business or a refreshing social encounter. This card encourages you to welcome change with a balanced sense of practicality and optimism, understanding that each shift paves the way for growth and renewed purpose.

Constant change, likely a pleasant change, visit to friends, wandering.

Suggested External Stance

Ace of Spades

The Root of Air: This card bursts forth as the inception of intellect and spiritual conquest. It represents an invocated force—an elemental surge of clarity and willpower born from adversity. The Ace of Spades signals the moment when profound insight and strength are summoned through tribulation, empowering you to overcome obstacles by embracing mental acuity and challenge.

Invoked force, conquest, strength through tribulation.
